Santorini the Volcano island

Santorini located in the Aegean Sea 75 km southeast from Attica it is the southernmost island of the Cyclades with an area of 76 square kilometers and a population about 11,000 inhabitants. the island is the most active volcanic center of the Aegean arc and has the largest caldera in the world.
The colors of the island its landscape and the sea, the rich light and clarity of its horizon creates a unique blend emotion, glare and interrogation
The volcanic character gives a characteristic color to the beauty of the landscape is frightening activity of the volcano during its eruption, Thera which shaped and gave its particular form
Santorini is an island of fascinating beauty, the picturesque town of Oia, the charming Captital Fira , the village of Imerovigli, Akrotiri, Kamari, Pyrgos and Perissa
the island’s capital, Fira is a village of 1,500 inhabitants in constant progress, which lives in the present while preserving the color of the past
The white houses, near each other, are dangling over the abyss and their terraces, overlooking the Caldera is superb beauty and emotion.
Fira has a unique location at the edge of the caldera, to appreciate all you need to pass from the main square. Odos N. Nomikou, along the caldera, the evening is a delightful place to stroll when the songs rise from the orthodox cathedral and the streets are corridors of light against dark and silent extent of the sea ,lively bars stay open all night in high season.During the summer it is overrun by tourists by day tourists who roam the streets and alleys that made Sugiri a considerable number of jewelry stores. To leave the tourist atmosphere of the city, go in the quiet of Emporeio, or Pyrgos or walk north of Fira and along the caldera to Firostefani and Imerovigli.
